Functionality is a growing section of website development. Functionality includes the programming that allows a website to suggest the perfect content for a customer.functionality makes it so that it is easy for you to update your website and keep your content fresh. Whether you are writing a blog, or updating your items for sale, fresh content is important. If you ran a store, you wouldn't put a display in the window for Christmas and leave it that way until July, but many people do treat their websites in that way.

This is not using the web the way it was intended. People want fresh content. It is important that you are able to update your site easily frequently and with out frustration. Otherwise you won't do it. Functionality can include the ability for someone to book a speaking engagement, ask a question, by product, make a suggestion, or otherwise interact with you.

I have been very pleased with the functionality included in even a basic Joomla website. Each of these websites ties into a database and has a method included to allow you to easily edit your information. Adding articles, products, or other bits of functionality are easy with Joomla. This is why I encourage my customers whenever possible to find a hosting company that will support a Joomla website. There are currently over 3000 add-on bits for Joomla. These add-ons range from shopping carts to slideshows to newsletter components. Some are excellent, and some are not. When I customize a website for a customer I go through the available add-ons that meet their needs, carefully picking ones that work together and will create a stable, long-term foundation that they can work with and maintain on their own for years to come.
